- Position: Board Member
My name is Rosa Shahidi, and I would like to thank Iranian Association of Boston for nominating me to be elected as an official member of the Board of directors (Shora). I graduated from Tehran Polytechnic University as a Chemical Engineer and later came to Massachusetts in 1998, where I now live with my husband, Ramin Shahidi, and my two sons Hooman and Parsa. More than anything, I truly love Iran and our people, and I believe that our Iranian Association of Boston can be a place in which all people, regardless of age or position, can be involved in our culture and make a positive change within our community. I have been involved in a few major activities with the IAB, such as leading the annual Children’s Nowruz Fair and I believe one of our major focal points moving ahead should be our children and the younger generation. We can continue to influence them by teaching them our beautiful culture and language, while keeping our children more involved within our community. I also believe that our highest priorities and attention should be given to our elderly generation (our parents) in order to provide them with the utmost level of service and respect that they indeed deserve. Our parents are our
roots and we need to take care of them not only by providing them entertainment, but also by providing them more support in all directions. My goal is to utilize public opinion in an effort to make a positive influence based on what people in our community desire. I hope that through your vote and your support I will be able to dedicate more time and effort to truly impact our Iranian Association of Boston, and together we can make our Persian community stronger and more united.
